The Counter: Golden Swipe
   So, I was on my way home from work; and decided to make a pit stop at the good ol’ dollar store. I gathered my items in my cart and proceeded down the aisles of my choice.  As I’m pushing my buggy, I noticed that I developed a headache. It wasn’t a severe, but as a woman, we stay current on all health products. I made my way to get my favorite “anti-pain” med, and I realized that I had gotten every item needed for this trip. I’m standing in line trying to have a natural smile on my face, but obviously I rushed to open what I felt like was the solution. I’m developing this “crooked smile,” and I’m trying my best to make it real, when all of a sudden, it’s my turn to approach the check-out counter. I, then, noticed that the cashier was not in a pleasant mood. Shoppers could tell that she didn’t like her job, but would greet the cashier anyway. As I’m counting my money after receiving my total, I see where the cashier has a highlighter ready to do the “golden swipe” across the bills I handed to her. So, she’s marking down the bills while counting them, and I, now, am gaining a defense. It took her at least three minutes to swipe, then; hold the bills to the light to see if she was catching counterfeit money. I decided to ask to borrow her highlighter. I was thinking like this, if she was checking my “bills” for any counterfeit dealings, I was doggone for certain to check the stores. It works both ways. The end.
